SHERIFF RHODES ADDRESSES PUBLIC MEETING ON TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT

Sheriff David Rhodes assured local residents that Williamson Valley Road will continue to be a focal point for tough traffic enforcement.
At a public meeting April 1st in Chino Valley, about 150 citizens turned out to hear the Sheriff and other YCSO personnel speak, following the March 22nd fatal head-on traffic accident on the two-lane road, which claimed the lives of a father and two children.

YCSO PART OF MULTI-AGENCY CHILD SEX CRIMES/TRAFFICKING TASK FORCE

A multi-agency task force, including members of PANT, culminated a 6-month operation in northern Arizona aimed at child sex trafficking and sexual exploitation with nearly 30 arrests.
The North Star Task Force included 11 law enforcement agencies and was centered in Flagstaff. In all, 28 arrests were made, about one-third of which were for serious felony crimes against children.

$40,000 SCAM OF A VERDE RESIDENT CONFIRMS NEED FOR ALL TO BE VIGILANT

A Verde Valley resident got a text message asking whether he had made a large bank card purchase. When he answered it, he began a chain of events that ended with scammers taking nearly $40,000 from his bank account.
YCSO Fraud Investigators say it's another example of why all residents need to consistently stay informed of the latest scams and how these criminals operate, so you aren't a victim.

SGT ROSS DISKIN RETIRES AFTER OUTSTANDING 25-YEAR CAREER WITH YCSO

YCSO Sgt Ross Diskin has retired from the agency after 25 years, including a 10-year span as a Detective during which he was instrumental in major criminal convictions.
At his retirement ceremony on March 24th, several co-workers spoke glowingly of Sgt Diskin's career achievements and dedication to public safety.
He was lauded for his compassion for crime victims, and for the many cases solved.

MULTIPLE FATALITIES IN TRAGIC ACCIDENT ON WILLIAMSON VALLEY ROAD

A father from Chino Valley and two of his young children lost their lives in a 2-vehicle head-on collision on Williamson Valley Rd, northwest of Prescott, on March 22nd at about 3pm.
Another young child was reported in critical condition at a Phoenix hospital, and three adults suffered serious injuries in the tragic accident.
Investigation is ongoing to see if speed or impairment were factors.
